Climate, geography and politics determine the borders of the desert. The borders of the oasis are the borders of life. Absolute and readable. If life changes, the border changes. It divides people, animals and plants. Inside are the settled, domesticated, cultivated and outside are the nomadic, wild and primal. Along the border are border-crossers: half nomads, flocks of sheep, donkeys, dogs.
