A further end product of the FILM IST. project: (FILM IST.1-6, 16mm, 60mins, 1998 and FILM IST.7-12, 35mm, 90mins, 2002) a non-linear, extensive video installation with 8 DVD projections.
Sequences were chosen from each subchapter of all 12 chapters, sometimes 8 different ones, sometimes four and sometimes just one. They were edited into an endless loop and juxtaposed in opposition with each other on 8 DVDs. The sequences are between 15 and 45 seconds long and are therefore repeated variably often on each DVD. After a minute the loops are stopped simultaneously.
Since the 8 projections are positioned next to each other a composition of images in dialog with each other is created that is never the same.

The form chosen for this installation is a cylinder hanging from the ceiling. It is a metal construct with stretched back projection foils with a diameter of seven meters. This way the film sequences can be seen from inside as well as outside.  The form refers to the pre-cinematographic zoetrope.
