Odyssey Today Information Container
A public institution in context of the Belluard Bollwerk Festival in Fribourg, Switzerland in 1999.
An information container was places in the pedestrian zone for two weeks in the city of Fribourg. An installation about “Being on the Way” in a public sphere in a time that is characterized by large streams of refugees as well as tourists and international transport of goods. Artworks on this topic were presented in the container.
Ethnic minorities (foreigners, mixed and marginal groups) from Fribourg were invited to the container for purposes of self-expression every day. A group photo documents the visit and was published in every day in the daily newspaper. A magazine was compiled with all the group photos and then distributed in the city during the second week.
