An acoustic intervention by D&S
On Wednesday the 18th of November 1998, a minute of radio silence was interspersed across various programs seven times from 6 a.m. until midnight.
The radio silence was announced by the presenter or speaker with a short message and an acoustic signal live from the studio and then concluded. The microphones were not switched off.
The radio silence was in fact their silence in the studio.
The message was:
Dear Listeners, today is Wednesday, the 18th of November. It is 9 a.m. Now follows the acoustic intervention aufHÖREN (stop.andLISTEN)

aufHÖREN (stop.andLISTEN) - seven times one minute of radio silence. An acoustic intervention by D&S. The next intervention will take place at 10.30 a.m..
The intervention was referred to in several editorial pieces and announcements.
On the transmission date D&S advertised the intervention in the daily papers.
A flyer in the same format as the ad was handed out to passersby in the city a few days prior and on the day of the transmission.
As a lasting testament of this artwork a CD was published, containing the recordings of the seven interventions comprising the minutes prior and after the program including the announcements and cancellation by the speakers as well as the editorial contributions.
